What Is Hospice Care?
Hospice care is physical, emotional and spiritual care for patients with terminal diseases in order to make their lives more comfortable when curative treatment proves futile. Hospice care provides skilled clinicians which include nurses, social workers, spiritual counsellors and certified home health aides to provide care and support to patients and their loved ones in their own home. Home is wherever the patient lives, whether a nursing facility, assisted living facility private home or apartment. Hospice staff help patients cope with the final stages of life.
